I just won an ebay auction for the most beautiful salwaar kameeze ever!


Isn't this one a beauty? I will need to do a bit of sewing to adjust it, but I think it will look wonderful for Christmas. It was $15.50 plus $15 shipping but I couldn't even buy the material for that amount! I'm dancing on air. I will look gorgeous. :o)

It's a traditional Indian outfit. If you rent 'Bride and Prejudice' you will see some of the most amazingly beautiful ones and also sari's and choli/lenghas.

Salwaar is actually the pants style and the kameeze is the tunic. The scarf is a dupatta. This is my 6th one, but only one of my others actually fits right now. They are very comfy and look great on everyone.

At least now I know what I'm supposed to be looking for in India in February! It is quite pretty, though I'm so klutzy I'm sure I would end up wrapping it up all wrong, looking like a mummy and tripping over the loose bits.... ahhhh, so much grace and style for one girl NO!

Sari's are the ones that are wrapped and I have one I can't get arranged around me to save my soul! The salwaar kameeze is easy...just a tunic and baggy pants. The scarf you can drape around you in a bunch of different ways, usually just around the neck loosely. If you try one on, you'll end up buying one for yourself!
