I've figured it out! Palin says she's quitting for a 'higher calling' now. Ah. *lightbulb on* It's obvious, the office she's going to run for is....GOD!
*falls down laughing!*
ETA mini rant: I'm reading some of the comments on MSNBC's NewsVine and I keep seeing this term 'haters.' Excuse me, but we aren't in the schoolyard anymore. GROW UP!

HOLY F'ING......!
Friday, July 3rd, 2009 01:12 pmPalin to resign as Alaska Governor
Okay, well, I didn't see that coming. Not that I'm sorry. But her Lt. Gov Sean Parnell is pretty much as crack-brained as she is.
Dang. We won't have Sarah to kick around anymore. Altho, since she's probably going to run for President....LOL! Let the games begin!
ETA: There are some really interesting rumors out there, some listed here at The Mudflats Blog which I highly rec for great information about Alaska politics. Apparently some Federal investigating is going on regarding Sarah's house and the Sports Complex she had built when she was Mayor of Wasilla. Interesting indeed!

A little political post
Saturday, March 28th, 2009 07:39 amIn the past, I've recommended a political blog called The Mudflats (http://www.themudflats.net/)to anyone who really wanted to know the truth about Sarah Palin and the dirt that mires our Alaskan politics. Today, one of a our state legislators, Mike Doogan a Democrat in the State House, who felt threatened by the truth, outed her by publishing her real name in an email to his constituents. Now as you all know, Our Fair Governator is an incredibly vindictive person and apparently, so are other politicians up here. By publishing this person's name (I choose not to do so), he has put her and her family in harm's way. He's a former journalist who should know the value of anonymous sources, yet he didn't like what she had to say about him, so he took our time (the State Legislator is in session) and tracked her down to out her because he feels he has the right to.
He talks about 'transparency and accountability' as an excuse, and yet this was a blog by a private citizen who has the right to say anything they want to, anonymous or not. Mudflats is a blogger who cheerfully admitted her own bias and had no public power other than the weight of words. Apparently the weight of those words were causing Mr. Doogan some discomfort, so in a petty, mean, small and possibly illegal way, he stuck back. He took a job that is public, to make decisions for the public he represents and indeed, for all Alaskans as he votes on important issues that affect every one of us in this state. He's an author and a former columnist for the Anchorage Daily News. He's chosen to be a public figure and as a politician, he is accountable. Yet he violates ethics for his own petty revenge.
Once again, I'm ashamed of Alaska politics. We make the Taliban look good. At least they think God is directing, not that they ARE God.
I sincerely hope at least an ethics complaint is lodged against him if not a full civil suit against him by Mudflats. Think about it...you are anonymous here. Want your private and personal information made public? Want your employer, your family to read what you post here? Want them to look in your journals and diaries? This is a First Amendment Right and he had no right to do what he did. As someone posted at Mudflats, The Federalist Papers were published anonymously and for damn good reason.
I hope you'll at least continue to watch this story as it develops because it has to do with your privacy too. Me..I think I need to write some emails.

Mind boggling!
Saturday, January 10th, 2009 08:07 amYes, I'm about to get on my political soapbox about our guv again. Cut for the tender sensibilities of intelligent peoples.

Hi-larious
Sunday, November 9th, 2008 11:08 pmWhen you say comedy in Alaska, you're talking Mr. Whitekeys. Even tho he's retired from his nightclub, he's made a new DVD about the history of Alaska. This little bit titled "Girls Just Wanna Have Guns" is typical of his twisted sense of humor. And it's why I adore him!
I'm thinking the DVD will make a great gift for the DH for Xmas.
(And yes, that was filmed in beautiful downtown Wasilla!)

Supreme Court Meme
Friday, October 3rd, 2008 09:02 amCourtesy of
wraith816 and

As evidenced by Katie Couric, Sarah Palin is unable to name any Supreme Court Case other than Roe v. Wade. (She was also asked what newspapers or magazines she regularly reads. She couldn't or wouldn't name one.)
The Rules: Post info about ONE Supreme Court decision, modern or historic to your LJ. (Any decision, as long as it's not Roe v. Wade.) For those who see this on your f-list, take the meme to your OWN LJ to spread the fun (and the facts).
The one Sarah Palin SHOULD have been able to quote:
EXXON SHIPPING CO. et al. v. BAKER et al. No. 07–219.
Otherwise known as The Day Exxon Fucked Alaska For the Second Time.
Read all about it here: Supreme Court Cuts Payments for Exxon Spill

Breaking my promise
Thursday, September 4th, 2008 10:01 amI know, I promised no more Palin. But I can't help myself. Best quote I've read about her speech last night: "...maybe someone needs to remind Sarah Palin that Jesus Christ was a community organizer and Pontius Pilate was a governor." (Second place: "Somewhere in Alaska, a village is missing its idiot.") These are from the Mudflats site I've been recommending. This morning's blog is about Sarah's tasteless pitbull joke, which is on the heels of a 6 year old child's death by the family pitbull in Anchorage.
This site had me impressed too. It's a very fair evaluation of Sarah from someone who knows her well. This lady even gives her real name in the article: http://community.babycenter.com/post/a1046585/and_sent_to_me_this_morning..
At the risk of sounding a bit like Sarah...God help us all.
ETA: Get them while they're hot!

ETA: I'm going to keep adding interesting sites/articles in this post so here's another one:
