I got tired of telling people that our apartment door doesn't have a number on it so I made one for us. Just some felt pieces I had hanging around and I got the design from an old sweatshirt crafting book I have. I put a few gold beads around the edges and for the birds eyes. The hanger is made from a straw stuck thru the top loop and a thin satin ribbon run thru the straw and tied.

Thanks! Should I go into the business of making door decorations instead of looking for a job?

Hey, you can do both. :D

I tell people I have three jobs these days. ;)

I meant to tell you my galpal here is starting a dog-sitting business, but only at her place, not going to their homes. She's the one with the two pups. We've been walking them nightly trying to teach them to walk nice on the leash. One of them is getting it...the other, not so much. :o)

That is cool!

There's money in pet-sitting if the area is good. ;)

Wish her luck!

Apparently all the local boarding places are way far out of town and the vets have all stopped boarding, plus most places won't take big dogs. We have one new place where they do it all, but it's way out of town too. I think she can fill a niche. I'm trying to convince her to put in a separate kennel/fenced off area in her fenced backyard to add to the benefits she can offer. That way if her pups aren't getting along with the critter/s she can keep them separate. So far she's weekend-sat for a chihuahua mix and it went well and the gal has booked her again.

Thank you...the boys weren't quite so thrilled. :o) Maybe the next one I'll do a design with cars or dirty laundry. *hee!*

That's really nice delph, I'd love to have the time to do something similar for the sunshade I'm working on but sadly I can't see it happening.

It's a shame you can't make money out of all the craft things you do, they turn out so well.

Thanks! (Let me know if it's something I can help with on the sunshade.)

Problem with selling crafts is first you have to pay yourself for your time and then for the items you use to produce the artworks. It gets too expensive for most people to buy.

Sad but true, most people don't appreciate the work that goes into these things.

Thank you for the offer, if I can think of anything I'll let you know hun. I've decided that it's going to be easiest to just make a few fabric letters and stitch them onto the sunshade instead, otherwise it's going to be winter before I get it finished. LOL I really should get the edging finished first before I start worrying about the extras though. :) Once it's all finished I'll try to get the SO to take some pics and post those (yes I know along with the ones of Mr Squishy etc).
