I'm so stupid

Money, being tight and all, I can't afford to waste even a penny. When an unexpected check showed up, I was delighted at being able to get a few things we needed like a new water filter and some shower soap, etc. I decided to splurge a little when I got to the store. (It was like found money anyway, right?) So I picked up the latest Harry Potter DVD, happy that it was on sale at $3 off at least. Opened it up to play it when I got home and found....it's the full-screen version. *facepalm* Opened, I can't return or exchange it. I 'HATE' full-screen. It's evil. It's wrong. It's like getting only half the movie. I only buy wide-screen. I could cry.
