Noooooooo!

I just can't believe this:

It says that David Carradine committed suicide. They found his body in his hotel room in Bangkok, Thailand. He was there working on a movie.

I'm sorry, but I think the Thai police are covering something up. He was working, was staying at a luxury hotel...he loved his work and he seemed to have been in a good place in his life. I can't see why he'd kill himself. It just seems so wrong.

In any case, my heart just aches. He was a part of my first real online fandom, Kung Fu The Legend Continues. I've always thought he was a brilliant actor, very underrated. He acted the way Astaire danced...effortlessly. He certainly had his share of troubles in his life and I hope he's found peace. I'm sure Kim was there to show him the way to the light.

Rest in Peace, David

I've known about that particular sexual practice since the 70's when a very talented comicbook artist, Vaughn Bode died in a similar manner. As much as Mabi rails against organized religion as doing so much evil in the world, I still think sex has done far worse. It causes damage on both an individual/personal level and on a global level with regard to affecting politics. (Where would Napoleon have been without Josephine?) AIDS/HIV is directly related and has caused massive devastation.

I can understand taking charge of your life and making a conscious decision to end it for compelling reasons. I can understand euthanasia when no medical treatment is possible. I may not agree with either of those kinds of decisions, but I can understand. To die because you are driven by sex to choose a risky way to satisfy one's self, is far worse to me. JMHO of course.

I still think there is more to the story and maybe a prostitute was involved and the Thai government is covering that up. It seems possible at least.

Yeah--that's what the family thinks too. I find it odd that his wrists would be tied as well. I don't know much about the practice myself (I first heard of it from X-Files, for heaven's sake!), but I'm thinking that's not normal.

I do think sex is very special (indeed, sacred; I know a lot would disagree with me).
