RIP Mary Travers

You either know the name or you don't. I'll always treasure the memory of meeting her after a Peter, Paul & Mary concert in Anchorage and I was honored to have been hugged by all of the group. She was an amazingly talented performer and gorgeous and full of the kind of confidence you only find in a few rare people. Rest in peace, dear lady and thanks for music.

Noooooooo!

I just can't believe this:

It says that David Carradine committed suicide. They found his body in his hotel room in Bangkok, Thailand. He was there working on a movie.

I'm sorry, but I think the Thai police are covering something up. He was working, was staying at a luxury hotel...he loved his work and he seemed to have been in a good place in his life. I can't see why he'd kill himself. It just seems so wrong.

In any case, my heart just aches. He was a part of my first real online fandom, Kung Fu The Legend Continues. I've always thought he was a brilliant actor, very underrated. He acted the way Astaire danced...effortlessly. He certainly had his share of troubles in his life and I hope he's found peace. I'm sure Kim was there to show him the way to the light.

Rest in Peace, David

RIP 4E

Just to note the passing of a wonderful gentleman:

I had the honor of touring Forry's amazing basement collection way back in the 70's. Yes, I touched both King Kong and Ultima Futura Automaton.

Rest in peace, dear sir.
