I guess it was all to prove to him that she could take better care of baby!Shifu than he ever could. But he sure did look cute with that baby. :-) (Which infant, as I've mentioned before, looks awfully white to be the child of Sha're and Apophis! But it was an adorable kid and interacted wonderfully with MS, so... *handwaves*) And it's the beginning of everything we eventually learn about the Ancients and Ascension, too.
