If I've done this correctly and I think I have, this should take you to my album on the Kodak site: Click Here!

It's mostly pictures of flowers as I was very impressed with the Huntington Botanical Gardens, but there are some pics of my sister's place and her critters and from our trip to the Grotto to see the 'found object' artworks all built by one very creative monk. We also visited the birthplace of Helen Keller and the Coon Hound Cemetery one day. I was thrilled to be finally able to eat at Sonic, Cracker Barrel and The Olive Garden while in Alabama too.

And I swear, I'm never getting on an airplane again! :oD

Great pictures!

The Grotto is located on the grounds of St. Bernard Abbey in Cullman, Alabama.

Here's what the web page for the Ave Maria Grotto says: Ave Maria Grotto, known throughout the world as "Jerusalem in Miniature," is a beautifully landscaped, four-acre park designed to provide a natural setting for the 125 miniature reproductions of some of the most famous historic buildings and shrines of the world. The masterpieces of stone and concrete are the lifetime work of Brother Joseph Zoettl, a Benedictine monk of St. Bernard Abbey.

I didn't get any shots of Mother Angelica's Shrine (http://www.olamshrine.com/), but we went there too. Very impressive! (And maybe a bit overdone!) They have a shop online: http://www.nunsgiftshop.com/ and have some really beautiful statues. I got a new scapular for myself and a St. Francis bookmark.

Wow! I don't exactly think of Alabama as a hotbed of Catholic sites! If I'm ever there, I'll have to look for these places!

Great pictures, mei mei. The flower you thought might be a sweet pea is a snap dragon. I liked seeing the Alaska pictures too. I always forget how rugged yet beautiful the far north is. I hate flying too.

If you want any copies, let me know and I'll email you the full file. Those are just cropped and low dpi files. I have some great moose shots I got the other day I need to upload next. You can see how green it's getting in those shots.

Wonderful photos! I especially loved the ones of the Grotto and the Canadian Goose shaped butterfly. ;-)

The butterfly house was just crazy with butterflies everywhere, but they didn't show up in most of the shots unless they had landed.

I'll bet you were glad to see the snowcapped mountains and put the hot'n'humid South behind you! :-D

Lovely pics.

Indeed! The weather here has been in the high 60's, exactly where I like it. However, I did seem to have less hot flashes down there or at least, I noticed them less. I'm wondering now if stress is affecting them.

Looks like you had an interesting trip hun, you came back with some lovely photos. We have something similar to the grotto here at a small Abby a couple of hours drive from here and another one that I know of further north called "Mary-vale"

Trips are great but they make coming home all the better.
